What are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are stored on the device through which the Visitor accesses a website, more specifically, through the browser used for this purpose, and which collect information regarding the Visitor’s navigation on that website.

These files help the site to memorize information about the visit made and to make the next visit easier for the Visitor: by keeping the Visitor’s actions and preferences for a certain period of time, by keeping or recognizing his or her username, the language in which he or she wants to navigate on the site or other settings.

What information is collected through Cookies?

Cookies and other similar technologies collect:

Traffic and location information, such as the IP address (Internet Protocol Address) of the Visitor, their location captured using a Global Positioning System (or GPS system), WI-FI access points and antennas mobile networks covered by your device;
Information about the device, detecting, for example, which operating system and browser are used, the date and duration of the visit to the site, and the identification of other sites visited;
Information relating to the Visitor’s behavior, such as, for example, the number of clicks made and the most visited pages.

Cookies can be classified according to several criteria. Considering their purpose, cookies can be:

Strictly necessary cookies – when they are necessary to ensure the functioning of the website and/or to ensure the availability of functionalities that are requested by the Visitor, or even to save their preferences regarding navigation on the same, whenever they use the same device and thus request.
Analytical cookies – are accessory in nature and collect statistical information in order to help website owners analyze their use and better understand the involvement of their visitors with the websites.
Personalization cookies – are of an ancillary nature to improve the performance of the website and are used to customize the Visitor’s browsing experience.
Advertising cookies – are accessory in nature and aim to make advertising more attractive to the Visitor and advertisers, by selecting advertising based on what is relevant to the Visitor, in order to improve reporting on campaign performance and avoid showing ads that the Visitor has already seen or flagged as not being relevant.

Considering the lifetime of cookies, these can be distinguished between:

i. Session cookies – are temporary in nature, being deleted from the cookie file when or shortly after closing the browser or application used to access the Digital Channels. Through this type of cookies, it is possible, for example, to analyze web traffic patterns,
allowing us to identify problems, safeguard security and provide a better browsing
experience.
ii. Permanent cookies – unlike session cookies, these are not deleted when closing the
browser or application, remaining stored on the Visitor’s devices. They are used whenever a new visit is made to the website, allowing, for example, to customize the browsing experience according to the interests of the Visitor and to provide a more individualized service.

Considering the entity that places the cookies, they can be classified as follows:

Own cookies – are sent to the Visitor’s device through equipment or domains managed by CANNA.BIZ, LDA. and from which the service requested by the Visitor is provided.
Third-party cookies – are sent to the Visitor’s device from an equipment or domain managed by a third party under which CANNA.BIZ, LDA. has no control. In these cases, the third party may process the data collected through cookies, including transferring them outside the EEA and CANNA.BIZ, LDA. may not be able to configure its operation and/or prevent the transfer of data collected by cookies.

In cases where cookies of certain categories may imply the transfer of data to countries outside the European Economic Area, it should be noted that some of these countries do not have an adequacy decision from the European Commission and may not offer a level of protection for your data equivalent to that of the European Union. For more information about the transfer of your data resulting from the use of these cookies, consult our Privacy Policy.

Should I accept the use of cookies?
In the case of strictly necessary cookies, it is not possible for the website to function without them. As for the other types of cookies, the choice is up to the Visitor. In accordance with current legislation, Digital Channels may only use cookies with the prior and express consent of the Visitor, except if the placement of certain cookies is strictly necessary to provide the service that you have expressly requested or to provide access to a certain functionality of the Digital Channels

How can I manage my cookie preferences?
At any time, the Visitor can change or withdraw his consent from the Cookies Declaration on the website.
